I have a multi-faceted background in research, strategic planning, learning, and procurement.

Education and Professional Development

I have over 20 years of experience as an information strategist with library science and knowledge management competencies. My experience includes having managed two library and information centres at both the Municipal (Toronto) and Provincial (Ontario) government level. I have extensive strategic planning experience, which have encompassed project and change management objectives. For example, I have implemented new service models, information management projects and managed large government procurement processes.

My experience includes leading and representing my previous employers in software vendor relationships ranging from startup to enterprise, with a focus on leveraging technology value and workflow enhancements for her clients. It’s important to me to stay current of new innovation and enhancements, in order to share features and benefits of new modules and products with users and decision makers. I have planned, facilitated and delivered training on research and technology for clients.

I am passionate about the way emerging technologies will improve the way we work, including avidly tracking new developments in Artificial Intelligence. I als pomoting women’s entrepreneurship and diversity which includes being involved in The Forum, which has several programs to encourage women’s entrepreneurship.

My expertise is blend of strategic insight, technological acumen, and deep understanding of research, strategic planning and information management. This comprises of a varied background in Canadian public sector experience at three levels of government, specifically in legal information and library science at the Federal, Municipal and Provincial Government. She holds BA Hons. English (University of Toronto), Masters of Information Studies (specialization in Library Science, University of Toronto), MS in Information and Knowledge Strategy (Columbia University). In my spare time, she enjoys traveling, taking art classes and being a voracious reader and being curious about anything and everything.

Accomplishments

  • I have a proven track record in managing complex information services. Examples include being the former Manager of Legal Information Services at the Ministry of Attorney General, Ontario Government and Head Librarian at the City of Toronto. I have led teams to deliver comprehensive legal research and information services, showcasing my capability to handle large-scale and diverse strategic planning initiatives and information management projects.

  • At the City of Toronto Legal Division, I managed a team to develop the Legal Division’s Library and Knowledge Portal, which involved migrating and creating new databases and web pages for know-how and research, demonstrating my ability to implement complex information systems strategically.

  • My background in managing significant procurement budgets, such as the $14M at the Ministry of Attorney General, shows my ability to manage resources effectively. I have extensive experience managing vendor relationships with laser focus on customer service, training, innovation and value for money. I have also facilitated proof of concept and free trials for innovative new research tools and engaging with key business development professionals in sales and marketing functions. I championed quality research modules and products to help people innovate in the organizations which I served.

  • My focus on AI and emerging technologies, particularly as a independent consultant, aligns with the innovative and forward-thinking approach required for the RFP process to procurement. My experience in leveraging technology for operational efficiency will be invaluable in working with clients to develop a strategic plan that incorporates modern solutions.
